Bahrain NOC Secretary General hails ‘heroes of tomorrow’

Manama, Bahrain, October 15, 2024: HE Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, participated in a felicitation ceremony for schools that won the top five places at the Sixth International School Games that concluded recently.

 

Opening his welcome address by thanking BOC President HH Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his support, Al Kooheji then underlined the great importance the BOC placed on these Games, stating it as an avenue to unearth young sporting talent. 

 

“These Games are the foundation for building a bright sporting future in the Kingdom and these students are the heroes of tomorrow. I wish them good luck and success,” the BOC Secretary General said.

 

Al-Kooheji thanked the Ministry of Education for its “continuous support and cooperation with the BOC”, and also commended the Bahraini Sports Federation of Schools and Universities for their backing.

 

The top five Government schools were: 1. Sar High School for boys; 2. Maharraq High School for boys; 3. Maharraq High School for girls; 4. City Hamad High School for boys; 5. City Issa High School for boys.

 

The top five private schools were: 1. Indian School; 2. Modern Knowledge School; 3. Brights International School; 4. Asian School; 5. Rawabi School.
