Afghanistan’s Robina Jalali receives certificate of participation from IOC, Paris 2024

Lausanne, Switzerland, October 9, 2024: Afghanistan sports leader, two-time Olympic sprinter and public figure Robina Jalali has received a Certificate of Participation for her work at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

 

The certificate, which is signed by IOC President Thomas Bach and Paris 2024 Organising Committee President Tony Estanguet, reads: “Thank you for your contribution to the success of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. 

 

“Your work and commitment from 26 July to 11 August 2024 helped to spread the Olympic values and bring the world together.”

 

Robina, who is pictured with the Afghanistan delegation at Paris 2024, wrote: “It is with great pride and hope that I announce that, as part of the Paris Olympic Games 2024, I have made a small but valuable contribution to this great global event and have now proudly received my certificate of participation.

 

“This global event brings together not only athletes but different cultures and nations. I am proud to have contributed to the Olympic values of friendship, respect and equality through my hard work and commitment. I owe this great achievement to the constant support of proud people, especially the heroic women of my land.

 

“It is also worth mentioning that this success is the result of teamwork and collaboration of all our colleagues. Thank you to the International Olympic Committee and the Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 for providing this wonderful opportunity.

 

“Hoping that, through sport, we can build bridges to connect nations and create a more united world.”
