Doha, Qatar, October 6, 2024: A delegation from the International Table Tennis Federation visited Doha for an inspection tour of the city’s sporting facilities as the Qatari capital prepares to host the 2025 World Table Tennis Championships Finals.
The visit highlights Qatar’s commitment to enhancing its infrastructure and facilities in anticipation of this prestigious global sporting event.
ITTF Executive Vice President Dr. Alaa Meshref hailed Qatar’s sporting facilities and said the city was well-prepared to host the World Championships Finals next year.
Meshref told local media that the well-equipped facilities met ITTF requirements and standards demonstrating Qatar’s readiness to host the event.
He said Qatar had hosted the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals 20 years ago, and will not find it difficult to host this same event again, having in the interim hosted such mega global events like the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Qatari officials said Doha was looking forward to hosting the world’s elite table tennis players.
