FIVB President Dr. Ary Graca visits Uzbekistan NOC

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, October 3, 2024: The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan welcomed Dr. Ary Graca, President of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), at the NOC Headquarters in Tashkent on Tuesday, October 1.

 

Uzbekistan’s Minister of Sport, Adham Ikramov, the Minister of Internal Affairs and President of the Volleyball Federation of Uzbekistan, Lt.Gen. Polat Bobojonov, and NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov were among the local delegation who welcomed the FIVB President.

 

Dr. Graca was briefed on the state of volleyball in Uzbekistan by Polat Bobojonov, who extolled the assistance being given by the Ministry of Sports and the NOC to the development of the game.

 

Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov highlighted the presence of Uzbekistan at the Paris Olympics and stressed that the aim was to place more emphasis on team sports, especially at the Olympic Games.

 

NOC Secretary General Kasimov then updated the visiting delegation with plans of the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Tashkent, and the inclusion of volleyball as a medal sport at these Games.

 

Both parties discussed ways to increase cooperation with Dr. Graca expressing his satisfaction at the state of volleyball in Uzbekistan.
