Muscat, Oman, October 3, 2024: The Oman Olympic Committee is holding the second phase of the training of coaches on Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) this week.
Three workshops are being conducted by the Oman Olympic Academy under the auspices of Olympic Solidarity. The first workshop concluded in South Al Batinah Governorate earlier this week while the second workshop will end on Thursday, October 3, at the North Al Batinah Governorate.
A third and final workshop will be held over the weekend in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate. All projects were held at the Directorate of Culture, Sports and Youth.
OVEP is part of an International Olympic Committee initiative to promote Olympic culture and values among youth athletes and students with trained coaches spreading the message.
The Oman Olympic Committee is focused on schools, clubs, academies and sports centres and is establishing a strong connection with the sports community.
The workshops are being conducted by Hisham bin Salem Al-Adwani, an IOC-accredited project director, along with Dr. Ali bin Abdulrahman Al-Bakri.
The first phase of this programme was held in the Governorates of Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah from April 29 to May 6.
