OOC concludes seminar on sports injury prevention

Muscat, Oman, October 1, 2024: The Oman Olympic Academy, under the auspices of the Oman Olympic Committee, has concluded a three-day seminar on sports injury prevention.

 

The specialised seminar on sports injury prevention was part of the National Coaching Certificate Programme and 22 people from various sports organisations participated.

 

The aim of the seminar was to raise awareness about the importance of sports injury prevention, and equipping coaches and physiotherapists with the knowledge and skills needed to manage and reduce injuries.

 

Dr. Abdulhamid Al-Kitani, a physiotherapy expert, was in charge of the seminar and delivered a series of lectures and interactive sessions.

 

A wide range of topics was covered, including the importance of medical examinations, muscle strength testing for athletes, warm-up and cool-down routines, preventive measures for common injuries, rehabilitation from sports injuries and how to address the psychological aspects related to sports injuries.
