Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, September 30, 2024: The Olympic Council of Malaysia has congratulated Dato’ Mohammed Najeeb Abdullah on his election as the new President of the Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC).

Dato’ Najeeb was elected President at the 51st Annual General Meeting and election of office bearers for the term 2024-2027 on Sunday, September 29 at the Sunway Resort, Petaling Jaya.

Dato’ Mohammed Najeeb Abdullah, a seasoned banker by profession, is no stranger to the MTBC. He has served as its Deputy President since 2015.

He was elected unopposed as the new President, making him only the second individual to hold the MTBC presidency in the past 50 years, following in the distinguished footsteps of his predecessor, Dato’ Dr. P.S. Nathan.

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, President of OCM and Vice President of OCA, was among the first sport leaders in the country to personally congratulate Dato’ Najeeb when he officiated at the opening ceremony of the 46th National and 35th Interstate Tenpin Bowling Championships at Sunway Mega Lanes on the same day as the MTBC AGM.

“We are confident that, under the capable leadership of Dato’ Najeeb, the MTBC will continue to uphold the legacy of Dato’ Dr. P.S. Nathan with the same passion and determination, ensuring a bright future of Malaysian Bowling,” said Dr. Norza.

“On behalf of the OCM and in my capacity as Vice President of OCA, I want to assure Dato’ Najeeb that we will continue to fully support the MTBC and advocate for the inclusion of tenpin bowling in all major multi-sport games under our jurisdiction.”
