CTOC promotes peace through sport at Olympic forum

Taipei, September 27, 2024: The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee, in conjunction with the CTOC Peace through Sports Committee, held the 2024 Olympic Sport for Peace Forum on the International Day of Peace, September 21.

 

The forum was organised in response to a call from the United Nations and the IOC to promote international peace and social harmony. 120 people took part.

 

The invited scholars highlighted the power of sport, which is not only a competition but also a bridge that connects people and promotes peace, friendship and solidarity. Participants were informed that sport is a common language and transcends national borders and cultural differences. 

 

Professor Lin Jia-He, of the institute of law of National Chengchi University, also shared with participants the theme of “Fair Play and the Resolution of Sports Disputes”. 

 

Professor Hsu Mei-Chich, from Kaohsiung Medical University, presented “Gender Issues and Equity in Sport” to promote that everyone should have an equal opportunity to participate in sport and enjoy the fun and benefits of sport.
