Thimphu, Bhutan, September 26, 2024: Ms. Sonam Yangchen, the General Secretary of the Bhutan Tennis Federation, participated in the Women’s Sport Leadership Academy held at the University of Chichester, UK, from September 8-13.
The leadership programme aimed at empowering women in sport was funded by Olympic Solidarity, with the Bhutan Olympic Committee paving the way for the tennis federation.
The WSLA is a prestigious global initiative designed to support and develop female leaders in sports organisations, and providing a platform for women around the world to enhance their leadership skills, build professional networks and gain insights into international sports management policies.
The six-day course was attended by women in sports organisations from around the world and Ms. Sonam Yangchen was able to expand her network and connect with female sports leaders.
The BOC noted that these connections will be instrumental in fostering future collaborations and initiatives for the development of sports in Bhutan.
