Harbin, China, September 24, 2024:  The second day of the Chefs de Mission Seminar for the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China next February began with a visit to the two hotels for athletes competing in Harbin on Tuesday morning.

The first port of call was the Victories Hotel, which will accommodate 1,184 athletes and officials during the AWG, which will run from February 7-14, 2025.

The hotel complex covers 110,000 square metres and has 41 floors and 617 rooms. The Victories Hotel will be the accommodation for the Chefs de Mission and will also offer the NOC Services Centre for the National Olympic Committees as well as a clinic, fitness centre and a prayer and meditation room.

The hotel is adjacent to the Harbin International Conference Centre, which will host the opening and closing ceremony, and will allow athletes to walk to the venue for the two ceremonies.

The second hotel for athletes in Harbin was the second stop for the delegates from 34 National Olympic Committees – the four-star Beidahuang International Hotel.

With 16 floors and 282 guest rooms, the Beidahuang International Hotel will accommodate a maximum of 484 people, meaning the two hotels in Harbin for athletes will house a total of 1,668 athletes and officials.

Harbin will stage the ice events at five venues during the AWG, and Yabuli, some 190km away, will host the snow sports. There will also be two hotels for athletes at Yabuli – and a visit to the mountain area by high-speed train is on the agenda for Wednesday.

Organisers said the athletes in Harbin would be accommodated in either the Victories Hotel or Beidahuang International Hotel depending on their sport, although both hotels are very close to the venues.
