Tashkent, Uzbekistan, September 24, 2024: The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan has reviewed preparations for the new Olympic cycle, including the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with a number of key decisions being taken.
Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia Otabek Umarov, NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov and NOC Vice Presidents Saken Polatov and Azizjon Kamilov participated in the meeting held last week at the NOC Headquarters in Tashkent.
Topics looked at during the meeting were paying more attention to team sports and women’s sports, improving the material and technical base of national teams, hiring experienced foreign coaches and strengthening medical care for athletes.
Preparations for the Tashkent 2025 Asian Youth Games were discussed in detail, especially the sports programme, and Uzbekistan’s performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics was also analysed.
