HAWGOC extends Entry by Name deadline for NOCs

Harbin, China, September 23, 2024: The organising committee of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China has extended the sports entry system for the National Olympic Committees.

 

With two of the three stages of the sports entry process already completed – Entry by Sport and Entry by Number – the final stage, Entry by Name, was due to run from October 8 to November 7, 2024.

 

However, with the AWG not due to open until February 7, 2025, organising committee HAWGOC, in collaboration with the OCA, announced at the Chefs de Mission Seminar on Monday that Entry by Name would be extended by one month to December 7, 2024 – still two months before the opening ceremony.

 

A record number of 34 National Olympic Committees have registered for the 9th AWG, which will run from February 7-14, 2025. 

 

Here are some of the highlights from the CDM Seminar on Monday morning:

*Sports 6, Events 11, Disciplines 64

*Two clusters: Harbin (ice events), Yabuli (snow events)

*Victory Ceremony (64): 32 at Harbin competition venues, 32 at Yabuli Medals Plaza

*Average temperature in February: Yabuli minus 15.1 C, Harbin minus 12.1 C

*Athlete Hotels: 2 in Harbin, 2 in Yabuli

*OCA Hotels (3): Shangri-La Harbin, Sofitel Harbin, Yaxue Hotel Yabuli

*NOCs: In the new OCA Constitution, no third delegate. Only President and Secretary General

*Accreditation Deadline: October 7, 2024

*Pre-Delegation Registration Meetings (Pre-DRM): October 8-30, 2024

*DRMs: January 27-February 6, 2025

*Visa Waiver into China (for accreditation card-holders): From January 1-March 1, 2025

*Anti-Doping Control: January 31-February 14, 2025

*Athletes who set new World/Asian record must undergo doping control

*Transportation for Arrivals and Departures: January 27 to February 17 (24 hours)
