Baghdad, Iraq, September 12, 2024: The Prime Minister of Iraq Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani has sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Iraq National Olympic Committee Dr. Aqeel Muftin on being elected to the Executive Board of the Olympic Council of Asia.
The Iraqi Prime Minister led a long line of well-wishers who all sent their best wishes to NOC President Dr. Muftin who was elected as OCA Executive Board member and Chair of the International Relations Committee at the OCA 44th General Assembly in New Delhi, India last Sunday.
“We congratulate you on your victory in becoming a member of the Executive Office of the Olympic Council of Asia and the Chairmanship of the International Relations Committee. We wish you success for your continental work,” Prime Minister Al Sudani wrote.
Dr. Muftin, also received a stream of congratulations from other leading dignitaries including the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Al Mubarqa, and heads of national sports federations.
On his part, Dr. Muftin, said his election to key roles within the OCA was a victory for the Iraqi Olympic Movement too.
