Erbil, Iraq, September 6, 2024: The President of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Dr. Aqeel Muftin, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Board of Directors of the Rose Sports Complex located at Shaqlawa Stadium in Erbil, Iraq.
The agreement will allow national teams in a number of Olympic sports like basketball, boxing, judo and wrestling to undergo training camps in the historic city in the Erbil Governorate in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Aqeel Muftin on behalf of the NOC and Mr. Walid Al-Jaf, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Rose Sports Complex.
The Rose Sports Complex features an integrated tourist resort with hotels and residential units, meeting halls and sports facilities.
The management of the sports complex pledged to embrace sports, run administrative and financial courses in sports and to hold training camps for national teams at a nominal cost for the Iraq NOC.
