Kuwait City, Kuwait, September 5, 2024: The OCA Director General and President of World Aquatics, Mr. Husain Al Musallam, welcomed prominent Hungarian sports leaders and the Foreign Minister to the OCA HQ on Thursday, September 5.
Captain Husain is pictured with Dr. Adam Schmidt, State Secretary for Sports, and Olympic swimming champion and former IOC Member Daniel Gyurta.
The three-time world champion Gyurta won the men’s 200m breaststroke gold medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games and silver at Athens 2004 and is now Director of Sports Relations at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In a gesture symbolizing friendship and collaboration, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó presented Captain Husain with a water polo ball signed by the Hungarian national team players.
This meeting highlights the growing connection between Asia and Europe in the world of sport.
