Kathmandu, Nepal, September 1, 2024: The Women and Sports Commission of the Nepal Olympic Committee celebrated Teej Festival on Friday, August 30 at the NOC Headquarters in Satdobato.
The President of the Nepal Olympic Committee, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, and Secretary General Nilendra Raj Shrestha participated in the festivities, which were graced by women representatives from the different national sports federations.
Wearing the auspicious colour red, the women danced and celebrated the important Hindu festival with President Shrestha also getting into the swing of things.
Traditionally, married women observe Teej and pray for the husband’s wellbeing, while unmarried girls wish for a life partner of their choice.
