Uzbekistan’s Olympic champ Keldiyorova given new role in national agency for social protection

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, August 28, 2024: Uzbekistan’s Diyora Keldiyorova, who won an Olympic gold medal at Paris 2024, has been appointed special representative of the National Agency for Social Protection to combat gender inequality and violence against children.

 

Keldiyorova’s appointment was approved by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The judoka was the only female athlete to win a gold medal for Uzbekistan in Paris when she triumphed in the women’s -52kg category.

 

 

Keldiyorova was welcomed by the head of the National Agency for Social Protection Mansurbek Olloyorov and his first deputy Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva, and was presented with the certificate of service last Friday, August 23.

 

Mirziyoyeva emphasised that Keldiyorova’s victory at the Olympics was a catalyst for progressive changes and showed the whole world that Uzbekistan is a country of equal opportunities and unlimited potential.
