New York, United States, August 27, 2024: The New York Yankees accommodated a squad of boys and girls from Bhutan who had travelled halfway around the world to participate in a unique cultural exchange centred around America’s beloved pastime – baseball.

A 12-strong squad from the Bhutan Baseball & Softball Association, also including officials, made their first-ever visit to the United States on a memorable journey made possible by hosts Hudson Valley Renegades.

Prior to the visit to the Yankee Stadium, the visitors were taken on a tour of the Major League Baseball Headquarters, and then visited Monument Park where the famous stadium is situated. They were also taken to the Yankees Museum and then met a few Yankees players who were having batting practice.

The Bhutan Olympic Committee noted that the trip not only offered the group a chance to spectate and experience a live baseball game but also served as a platform for them to act as ambassadors of Bhutan, “representing our nation’s rich cultural heritage to the people of the US.”
