Presidential rewards for Uzbekistan heroes of Paris 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, August 15, 2024: Presidential gifts have been bestowed on the Paris 2024 Olympic medallists of Uzbekistan, ranging from cash prizes to cars and apartments.

 

Celebrating the country’s best-ever performance at an Olympic Games, the "President's Gift" - a scheme by the Uzbek government to award funds to all segments of society - has bestowed rich rewards to the Olympians.

 

Uzbekistan finished with eight gold medals, two silver and three bronze medals to rank 13th among 206 countries and regions, and fourth in Asia. Five of those eight gold medals came in boxing.

 

Gold medal winners received a Chevrolet Tahoe car, US$200,000 and an apartment. Silver medal winners were given a BYD Song Plus EV Champion car, US$100,000 and an apartment. Bronze medal winners received a BYD Song Plus DM-I Champion car, US$50,000 and an apartment.

 

The awards ceremony took place at the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan headquarters in Tashkent and was attended by government officials and the leadership of the Ministry of Sports and the NOC.
