Uijeongbu, Korea, August 9, 2024: The Asian Electronic Sports Federation has forged a strategic partnership with Shinhan University, a leading institution in Korea.
The university offers an online education program through their Shinhan Online University Performance and has established an internet-based campus accessible regardless of time and place, in addition to its offline programs on two campuses.
The university has also introduced a major in esports management, focusing on practical training to prepare students for careers in the industry.
This new collaboration builds on AESF's ongoing efforts to enhance esports education, following similar partnerships with other prestigious universities such as Temple University Japan and Guangzhou Sport University.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between AESF Executive Board member Mr. Hicham Al Taher and Dr. Chung Jin-kyung, Vice President of External Affairs of Shinhan University.
Dr. Chung said: “Shinhan University, with over 50 years of history, has built its reputation by hosting various international events in line with the era of globalization. We are dedicated to nurturing global leaders through a range of global events, including esports competitions.”
Mr. Al Taher added: “This MoU marks the beginning of a promising partnership between AESF and Shinhan University. It underscores our shared vision and dedication to advancing education, research and opportunities in esports.”
This partnership will see Shinhan University actively participate in AESF events, including university competitions. Both parties will collaborate on academic and industrial research in esports, leveraging AESF’s network to connect with industry associates and guide research on contemporary issues.
