SF&OC promotes ‘sport for all fun day’ at festival finale in Hong Kong

Hong Kong, China, August 5, 2024: The final event of the 67th Festival of Sport, the “Sport for All Fun Day”, was held over two days on August 3-4 at the Free Space, Kwun Tong Town Centre. The festival is organised by the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China.

 

The Sport for All Fun Day featured a wide variety of free sports experiences and game booths, including skateboarding, basketball, rope skipping, practical shooting, modern pentathlon, fitness and pétanque. 

 

The wealth of activities attracted many families, engaging visitors by promoting urban sports and encouraging public participation. 

 

The event was organised by the SF&OC and co-organised by the Sport for All Confederation of Hong Kong, China.

 

August 4 also marked “Sport for All Day 2024.” SF&OC participated in the themed event organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department at the Tai Po Tung Cheong Street Sports Centre. SF&OC set up an Olympic-themed game booth to enhance public understanding of the Olympic Games and invite members of the public to cheer on for the Hong Kong, China delegation competing at Paris 2024.

 

SF&OC, in collaboration with various National Sports Associations, organised over 60 sports activities across various districts in the community over the past few months. These activities include sports competitions, fun days, sports demonstrations and experiences, encouraging people of all ages to engage in sports, deepen their understanding in various sports disciplines, and helped to cultivate a habit of regular exercise. 

 

Festival ambassadors, including Yiu Kit Ching (athletics), Yapp Hung Fai (football) and Tang Yu Hin (karate) also joined the public in the sporting activities, helping to promote Hong Kong’s sports culture.
