Hong Kong, China, July 31, 2024: A delegation of about 100 members of the 2024/25 SF&OC Greater Bay Area (GBA) Youth Sports Exchange Programme set off for a four-day visit to Foshan on Tuesday, July 30.
The delegation, led by Dr. Karl C. Kwok, Vice President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, comprises young athletes, coaches and team leaders from flying disc, football and lion dance.
They will take part in sports exchange activities, joint training and friendly matches alongside athletes from Guangdong Province.
Dr. Kwok said: “The National Games in 2025 will be co-hosted by Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macao and the preparation work is in full swing. SF&OC anticipates that the young athletes could improve their sports skills and build friendships through this exchange programme.
“Furthermore, it is hoped to foster a sense of solidarity among the Greater Bay Area and a shared enthusiasm for the National Games.”
In addition to sports exchange, the delegation will visit cultural sites and famous attractions such as Shun Feng Mountain Park, Fengjian Water Town and Tailiang Rice Experience Center to cultivate a sense of national patriotism through learning about the history and characteristics of this city.
SF&OC would like to extend sincere gratitude to the Sports Bureau of Guangdong Province and Guangdong Provincial Social Sports, Sports Training and Competition Center for their support and arrangement, which has contributed to the great success of the 2024/25 SF&OC Grater Bay Area Youth Sports Exchange Programme.
SF&OC looks forward to working closely with National Sports Associations and continues to promote the exchange programme in the Greater Bay Area and provide a platform for more young athletes to grow and learn.
