Aichi-Nagoya 2026 promotes Asian Games at Team Japan House in Paris

Paris, France, July 27, 2024: The opening of Team Japan House in Paris on Saturday provided the organisers of the next Asian Games in Japan with a high-profile platform to promote Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

In the presence of mascot Honohon, a team from AINAGOC handed out information and merchandise to visitors and gave them the chance to write their name in Kanji characters on a souvenir sheet and draw the new mascot.

AINAGOC Secretary General Satoshi Murate and Acting Director General Yasuhiro Nakamori were also present at Team Japan House to help in the efforts to promote the next Asiad.

The leading officials said that, once the Paris Olympics closed on August 11, there would be just over two years to the 20th Asian Games and there was no time to waste in planning and preparation.

Team Japan House also displayed memorabilia from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Japan Tourism, Team Japan official uniforms and the Japan Sport Council, and gave visitors the chance to play table tennis and basketball in a mini-arena.

The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games will run from September 19 to October 4, 2026 and feature 41 sports and 15,000 athletes and team officials from the OCA’s 45 National Olympic Committees. The slogan is “Imagine One Asia”.
