OCA, HAWGOC conduct first TV audit meeting

Harbin, China, July 26, 2024: The Olympic Council of Asia and 9th Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025 Organising Committee (HAWGOC) conducted the first TV Audit Meeting in Harbin from July 23-25. 

 

The OCA Director of Media and Broadcast, Jeans Zhou Jian, presided over the meeting, while Daniel Hubp, the OCA Independent Television Auditor, attended online.

 

Representatives of the host broadcaster and the media operations service provider were joined throughout the meetings by representatives of various HAWGOC departments such as sports, venues and infrastructure, venue operations, games services, security and legal affairs, IT, international relations and communications and media operations. The HAWGOC departments presented progress reports, with emphasis on preparatory efforts relevant to the OCA TV Audit.

 

Zhang Haihua, Deputy Secretary General of HAWGOC, delivered the opening speech and pointed out that the first TV Audit Meeting was being held alongside the key milestone of 200 Days to Go to Harbin 2025. He said the meeting would clearly showcase the progress in venue construction and Games preparations and would pinpoint the existing problems and shortcomings to be overcome with well-targeted measures so as to ensure the smooth advancement of Games preparations as scheduled. 

 

Zhang Haihua also defined the key tasks for HAWGOC in the near future: to strictly implement key points as stipulated in the audit report; to actively cooperate with the host broadcaster in the formulation of a meticulous broadcast plan; to apply innovative and cutting-edge technology; to set new benchmarks for organisation management, television publicity and cultural communication at the same time as displaying the high level of competition; to provide high-level services to the media from Asia and the world; to present high-quality broadcasting to the global audience; and to display a harmonious picture of the AWG slogan “Dream of Winter, Love among Asia”. 

 

The OCA TV Audit Team acknowledged the thorough preparations in areas such as communications, press operations and broadcast services and expressed appreciation of HAWGOC’s persistent efforts, which had laid a solid foundation for the successful broadcasting of the AWG next February.

 

The OCA team also conducted a venue tour of the Victories Hall (IBC), floors 2-3 of the Victories Conference Centre (MPC), Victories Exhibition Centre B, C Halls (venue for the opening and closing ceremonies), Yabuli Alpine Skiing Stadium and Yabuli Broadcast International Hotel (Yabuli Mountain Media Centre).
