CTOC delegation receives NOC flag for Paris 2024

Taipei, July 13, 2024: The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC) held a grand Flag Presentation Ceremony and Olympic Games Preparation Workshop for the Chinese Taipei delegation participating at Paris 2024 at the National Sports Training Center in Kaohsiung on July 9.

 

President Lai Ching-Te handed over the NOC flag to CTOC President and head of delegation Lin Hong-dow, who then presented it to the delegation's Chef de Mission, CTOC Vice President Chang Huan-cheng

 

President Lai also awarded a NT$200,000 special meal supplement fund and a protective amulet to the delegation, expressing his care and blessings for the athletes. 

 

Weightlifter Chen Wen-huei received the special meal fund on behalf of the delegation, while breaking athlete Sun Chen accepted the protective amulet.

 

This year, the Chinese Taipei delegation will compete in 16 sports: swimming, archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, canoeing, fencing, golf, gymnastics, judo, shooting, taekwondo, table tennis, tennis, weightlifting and breaking. 

 

The delegation comprises 60 athletes, along with coaches, medical teams and administrative staff, totaling 144 members.

 

Following the Flag Presentation Ceremony, delegation members participated in a Games Preparation Workshop organized by CTOC. The workshop provided comprehensive information on the Paris Olympics, including competition details, transportation and accommodation arrangements, anti-doping regulations and safety precautions. 

 

CTOC President Lin Hong-dow expressed confidence in all the athletes, hoping they will give their best performances, showcase their talents and strive for the highest honors at the Paris Olympics
