Tashkent, Uzbekistan, July 8, 2024: Uzbek athletes winning medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics will be richly rewarded, promised the Prime Minister of the country, Abdulla Aripov.
Speaking at a ceremonial send-off for the Paris-bound delegation, Uzbek Prime Minister Aripov said prize money would be awarded by the state to winners of medals at the Olympic Games.
Olympic champions will receive US$200,000, silver medallists US$100,000 and bronze medallists US$50,000.
At the last Olympics, Tokyo 2020, Uzbekistan won three gold medals and two bronze.
The ceremonial send-off was held at the Museum of Olympic and Paralympic Glory in Tashkent and was attended by several dignitaries including heads of ministries and of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.
