Iran to send 40 athletes to Paris Olympics

Tehran, Iran, July 8, 2024: Iran will be represented by 40 athletes in 13 sports at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

 

The National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced the final delegation to Paris after the addition of track and field athletes Hassan Taftian and Farzaneh Fasihi, who both secured their spots based on their World Athletics rankings.

 

This brings the number of Iranian athletes to 40 – 29 men and 11 women – who will compete in athletics, archery, cycling, fencing, gymnastics, rowing, shooting, sport climbing, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, weightlifting and wrestling.

 

The Paris 2024 Games will be held from July 26 to August 11. A total of 10,500 athletes will compete in 329 events across 32 sports.
