Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein visits Olympic and Paralympic athletes

Amman, Jordan, July 7, 2024: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan met with the country’s Paris-bound Olympic and Paralympic delegation on Thursday, July 4.

 

The Crown Prince met the athletes in the presence of the President of the Jordan Olympic Committee HH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein at the Olympic preparation centre in the capital Amman.

 

Crown Prince Hussein congratulated the athletes and wished them success in the Olympics and Paralympics.

 

Jordan will be represented by 12 athletes in six sports in the Olympics: taekwondo quartet Julyana Al-Sadeq, Rama Abu Al-Rub, Saleh Al-Sharabaty and Zaid Mustafa; boxing trio Hussein Ishaish, Zeyad Ishaish and Obada Al-Kasbeh; gymnast Ahmed Abu Al-Saud; table tennis player Zaid Abu Yaman; swimmers Amr Al-War and Karina Al-Balbisi, and marathoner Moath Al-Khalidah.

 

Jordan will be represented at the Paralympics by shot putter Ahmed Al-Hindi and seven athletes from the weightlifting national team: Jamil Al-Shabli, Moataz Al-Junaidi, Tharwat Al-Hajjaj, Asmaa Issa, Abdul Karim Khattab, Omar Qaradah and Mohammed Al-Sheniti.

 

Her Highness Princess Ayah Bint Faisal, President of the Jordan Volleyball Federation and member of the JOC Board of Directors, Dr. Sari Hamdan JOC Vice President, and Rana Al-Saeed JOC Secretary General also participated.

 

The Olympic Games will be held from July 26 to August 11 and the Paralympics from August 28 to September 8.
