Male, Maldives, July 4, 2024: Eama Abdul Sattar from the Netball Association of Maldives represented the country as a delegate at the 64th International Session for Young Olympic Ambassadors last month.

The Maldives Olympic Committee has acknowledged Sattar’s contribution at the event which took place in Olympia, Greece from June 8-21. Sattar returned home with a Diploma which she received from the President of the International Olympic Academy, Mr. Isidoros Kouvelos.

During the session, participants explored the main topic "The Athlete in Modern Society: Inspiring and Fostering Unity". Through workshops, discussions and activities, delegates were encouraged to apply the insights gained in Olympia to become effective ambassadors of Olympism in their home country.

Since its inception in 1961, this session has been a cornerstone of the International Olympic Academy’s efforts to promote Olympism. It brings together young people from diverse backgrounds to foster friendship, cooperation and a deeper understanding of Olympic values.
