Tashkent, Uzbekistan, July 3, 2024: The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan has announced that boxer Abdumalik Khalokov and fencer Zainab Dayibekova will be the flag bearers of the Uzbekistan delegation at the opening ceremony at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The high honour of carrying the national flag was announced at an official send-off ceremony for the Uzbekistan delegation at the Museum of Olympic and Paralympic Fame in Tashkent on Tuesday, July 2.
Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games gold medallists Khalokov and Dayibekova will lead the Uzbekistan delegation at the opening ceremony on July 26.
Uzbekistan is set to field a strong contingent of more than 50 athletes in Paris, including a first-time appearance of the men’s national football team at the Olympics.
