Jerusalem, Palestine, July 1, 2024: Palestine’s taekwondo hope for Paris 2024, Omar Hantouli, has turned up the intensity of his training ahead of the Olympic Games, the Palestine Olympic Committee reports.

Following a 10-day training camp in Abha, Saudi Arabia and a week-long stint at the Sharjah Club to focus on physical fitness, Omar moved on to Kazakhstan for 17 days to train with the national teams of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Before going to Paris, the Palestinian hopeful will compete in a tournament in Korea – the home of taekwondo – before rounding up his preparations at a 10-day camp in Tunisia in which a large number of Olympians from Jordan, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other countries will participate.

Hantouli entered the pages of history by winning Palestine its first ever berth in taekwondo at the Olympic Games, emerging triumphant at the Asian qualification tournament in Tai’an, China on March 16, at men’s -58kg.

The taekwondo competitions at Paris 2024 are scheduled to run from August 7-10 at the Grand Palais strip, giving Hantouli more time to prepare as the Games open July 26 and run through August 11.
