Male, Maldives, June 30, 2024: The Maldives Olympic Committee held an Extraordinary General Assembly on June 25, 2024 to elect a new Vice President - a position vacant since March 2024.
The EGA was attended by the MOC Executive Committee, representatives from 15 out of 16 member sport associations and observers from the National Sports Council and the office of the Commissioner of Sports.
Ahmed Munthaqim was elected as the new Vice President, being the sole candidate. Munthaqim’s election marks a significant step as the MOC anticipates his leadership and vision in advancing sports development in the Maldives.
The orderly election process concluded with the national anthem, symbolizing a new chapter under Munthaqim’s vice presidency.
