Tehran, Iran, June 27, 2024: The National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran celebrated Olympic Day 2024 at the National Olympic Academy with a colourful ceremony that ended with the release of hundreds of balloons.
Iran NOC Secretary General Dr. Seyed Manaf Hashemi officiated at the ceremony which was attended by members of the NOC Executive Board, including Olympian Behdad Salimi and Mehdi Gudarzi, their families and a large number of children.
After prayers to the Almighty and the playing of the national anthem, Dr. Seyed Hashemi began proceedings by reading out the Olympic Day 2024 "Let’s Move and Celebrate" message from IOC President Dr. Thomas Bach.
The symbolic Olympic Torch was then carried along with a large IOC Flag during a colourful march past of the children which ended with hundreds of balloons being released wrapping up the celebrations.
