Gandhinagar, India, June 26, 2024: The Indian Olympic Association celebrated Olympic Day 2024 on Sunday, June 23 with the inauguration of the Bharat Centre of Olympic Research and Education at the Rashtriya Raksha University.
IOA President PT Usha graced the occasion in the company of IOA Senior Vice President Shri Ajay Patel, Vice Chancellor RRU Bimal Patel and Paralympic medallist Bhavinaben Patel.
Speaking at the event, IOA President and legendary sprinter PT Usha said the centre will serve as a hub of knowledge, innovation and performance in the Indian sports ecosystem.
“The launch of such a centre is a momentous occasion marking a significant step forward in the commitment to excellence in sports and at the Olympics,” Usha said.
“The centre will serve as a repository of knowledge, housing valuable data and insights in Olympics, training methods, sports science and athlete development,” she added.
