Lahore, Pakistan, June 24, 2024: The Pakistan Olympic Association has congratulated the 18 shortlisted artists who submitted entries to the painting competition held to mark Olympic Day celebrations and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
“Congratulations to the talented artists whose paintings have been shortlisted from the 101 incredible submissions,” the Pakistan Olympic Association posted on social media. “These top 18 artists have creatively explored our three themes, making the selection process both challenging and delightful.”
Judges curated the final selection at Olympic House in Lahore, with the winners of each theme to be announced in July.
The three themes to mark Olympic Day 2024 celebrations were: (a) your understanding of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games; (b) your favourite sports in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games; and (c) your favourite Pakistan athlete for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Pakistan javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem, the first Pakistani to qualify for the final of any track and field event at the Olympic Games and World Athletics Championships, was the popular choice of all entries in the 'favourite Pakistan athlete' category.
