Kazakhstan NOC and Nazarbayev University sign agreement to advance sports science and education

Astana, Kazakhstan, June 20, 2024: The National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Nazarbayev University. 

 

The MoC was signed by NOC Secretary General Zhanar Utesheva and NU Vice President and Dean of School of Medicine, Massimo Pignatelli.

 

Collaboration will focus on the field of sports science and education in particular. It will offer conducting joint educational projects, international seminars, and master-classes to benefit athletes, coaches, referees and officials, as well as the development of scientific projects in sports medicine and rehabilitation.

 

Plans are also afoot to establish a Sports School at Nazarbayev University so as to prepare future specialists in the field of sports science and education.

 

“This memorandum confirms once again the beginning of an important long-term partnership with NU that will advance sports science and education,” said NOC Secretary General Uteshava.

 

“This agreement also represents a shared vision of combining the NOC’s practical insights with the University’s academic excellence and experience. I am confident that this cooperation will be a huge step in the development of sports education in Kazakhstan,” she added.
