Manila, Philippines, June 19, 2024: The Philippine Olympic Committee has announced that boxers Nesthy Petecio and Carlo Paalam have been chosen as the Philippines’ flag bearers for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In keeping with the IOC directive to name a female and male flagbearer for the opening ceremony on July 26, the pair of Tokyo 2020 silver medallists will do the honours for the Philippines.
“Let’s rally behind them as they lead our team to victory,” said the POC.
In other Olympic Games news, the POC has teamed up with Aice Ice Cream in an exciting new partnership aimed at supporting the nation’s athletes as they prepare for Paris.
