Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, June 19, 2024: The Olympic Council of Malaysia has announced that world champion diver Cheong Jun Hoong will lead the Olympic Day celebrations next month.
Jun, Olympic silver medallist in the women’s 10m synchro at Rio 2016 and 10m platform individual world champion in 2017, will highlight the annual event at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) in Tanjung Malim, Perak, on Sunday, June 23.
Jun, 34, competed in three Olympic Games from London 2012 to Tokyo 2020 in springboard and platform events and retired in January 2022.
She attended the recent Olympic Solidarity/OCA Regional Forum at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur with the team from the Olympic Council of Malaysia.
