Kuwait City, Kuwait, June 18, 2024: The 43rd OCA General Assembly in Bangkok on May 11 is given top priority in the latest edition of Sporting Asia – official publication of the Olympic Council of Asia.
Not only did the General Assembly approve the new OCA Constitution, the meeting also heard that the OCA HQ would remain in Kuwait thanks to the continued support of His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, and the Kuwaiti government.
The 48-page Sporting Asia for June 2024 devotes eight pages to the General Assembly with reports, awards, comments and photos.
The new Sporting Asia also reports on the Olympic Solidarity/OCA Regional Forum in Malaysia and Bahrain which provided a wealth of information for the 45 National Olympic Committees as they look ahead to the Paris Olympics and beyond.
The OCA Games Update section takes in four upcoming Games: the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Bangkok and Chonburi, Thailand this November; the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China next February; the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in September 2025; and the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya, Japan in September-October 2026.
Inside the OCA follows the OCA Director General, Mr. Husain Al Musallam, to China and reports on a series of online committee meetings.
The work of the OCA Athletes Department comes into focus with the online election for the OCA Athletes’ Committee Chair, as well as a webinar on the Prevention of Manipulation of Competition.
