Lausanne, Switzerland, June 18, 2024: The IOC President Thomas Bach received India’s Olympic shooting champion Abhinav Bindra at Olympic House in Lausanne.
Abhinav, who is also a member of the IOC Athletes’ Commission, competed in five Olympic Games from Sydney 2000 to Rio 2016 and became the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal in an individual sport - men’s 10m air rifle at Beijing 2008.
The IOC President congratulated him on his very successful initiatives in India concerning Olympic education and climate action.
