Tashkent, Uzbekistan, June 17, 2024: The Chinese company building Olympic City to host the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Tashkent met with Uzbekistan’s sports leaders to update them on the latest construction progress.
The General Manager of CAMC Engineering, Li Taishin, met with Uzbekistan Sports Minister Adkham Ikramov and the Secretary General of the Uzbekistan National Olympic Committee, Oybek Kasimov, to apprise them of the latest developments of the 100 hectares sporting complex.
The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, had stated at the time of the laying of the foundation stone in November 2022 that Olympic City “should not be empty after the Asian Youth Games, but should serve our people.”
This topic of creating a sports hub was also discussed at the meeting last Saturday.
It is proposed that the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports, national sports federations and other agencies be located at Olympic City.
