Kuwait City, Kuwait, June 13, 2024: Athletes and coaches attending the Olympic Council of Asia’s triathlon development youth camp in Malaysia next month participated in an online briefing on Wednesday, June 12.
A total of 73 participants from 25 National Olympic Committees have signed up for the youth camp, which is one of the OCA’s most popular projects under the Olympic Solidarity continental programme. The camp will take place in Kampar, Malaysia from July 10-17.
The OCA Special projects and OS Program Manager Wissam Trkmani welcomed all participants to the online meeting and gave a broad picture of what to expect during the eight-day camp.
The camp is being organised by the OCA in collaboration with World Triathlon. Invitations were sent to all 45 Asian NOCs to send two athletes, one female and one male, between the ages of 15-17, and one coach.
After a selection process, the OCA announced the final numbers for the camp.
Officials from World Triathlon also briefed athletes and coaches during the Zoom meeting, giving an overview of the camp and insights from the world governing body on the sport.
