Malaysia NOC taps into ASMC alumni experience

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, September 17, 2019: The Olympic Council of Malaysia organised the first Advanced Sport Management Course (ASMC) Alumni Forum on Saturday, September 7 at the OCM Indoor Sports Complex.

The forum brought together ASMC graduates to obtain feedback on how the ASMC made an impact in their sports career/life, to enhance further their contributions towards sport and to have networking and fellowship.

A total of 34 graduates from the year 2008 to 2018 and five participants from the 2019 batch attended the forum.

The forum began with speeches from the two Programme Directors, Ms. Moira Tan Siew See and Mr. Wan Yew Leong, followed by the advisor, Dato’ Sieh Kok Chi, Honorary Member of OCM and Secretary General of OCM from 1992 to 2015.

Prof. Dato’ Dr. Shamala Subramaniam, Chairperson of the OCM Education and Training Committee, gave the closing remarks.

The participants shared how the ASMC had helped them and their organisation upon graduation. They also shared their contributions towards the sports development of their respective organisations and made suggestions for the future.

The OCM will give a report on the outcome and suggestions by the participants to Olympic Solidarity, together with the report of the 12th ASMC 2019.
