Former judge of Supreme Court of India appointed Chair of OCA Election Committee

Kuwait City, Kuwait, June 12, 2024: The Olympic Council of Asia has appointed a former judge of the Supreme Court of India and former Solicitor General of India, Mr. Rohinton Fali Nariman, as Chair of the OCA Election Committee.

 Retired Justice R.F. Nariman, 67, will chair the committee that will supervise the OCA elections to be held in October 2024. The date and location of the elections have yet to be announced.

 The OCA Election Committee consists of the following:

1. Mr.  Rohinton Fali Nariman – India – Chairman, former judge Supreme Court of India and former Solicitor General of India 

2. Dr. Muhammad Buzbar – Kuwait, Former Public Prosecutor 

3. Mr. Kutubuddin Ahmad – Bangladesh, Businessman 

4. Ms. Ding Ning – Chair, OCA Athletes’ Committee 

5. Prof. Charoen Wattanasin – Member, OCA Ethics Committee 

6. Mr. Mohd. Tayyab Ikram – President International Hockey Federation

7. Ms. Rita Subowo – President, Asian Volleyball Confederation.

 The seven-member OCA Election Committee will be assisted by: 

8. The OCA lawyer – Mr. Michele Bernasconi 

9. OCA Secretariat.

 The announcement was made by the Acting President of the OCA, Raja Randhir Singh, on Wednesday, June 12.
