Maldives appoints table tennis president Ali Rasheed as CDM for Paris 2024

Male, Maldives, June 12, 2024: The President of the Table Tennis Association of Maldives, Ali Rasheed, has been appointed Chef de Mission for the Maldivian contingent at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

 

The announcement was made by the Maldives Olympic Committee at a meeting held with National Sports Associations participating at the Paris Games.

 

“This significant appointment marks a key leadership role in guiding and supporting the national athletes as they prepare for one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events,” the Maldives Olympic Committee posted on social media.

 

The Maldivian contingent to Paris will include young table tennis prodigy Fathimath Dheema Ali who made history by becoming the first Maldivian athlete to qualify for the Olympic Games.
