Southeast Asia RADO attends university workshop

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, March 4, 2020: The Southeast Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (SEARADO) reports that a joint workshop was organised by the University of Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) and the University of Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) for healthcare professionals.

Mr Gobinathan Nair, Director General of SEARADO, was invited as a speaker to share on the revised World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards, the UNESCO convention and the list of banned substances in sports. 

Other speakers included Dr. Wong Jyh Eiin from UKM, who spoke about supplements, and Associate Professor Dr. Ahmad Taufik Jamil, Associate Professor and Consultant Public Health Medicine Specialist Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), who spoke on Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE). 

The afternoon session addressed how health professionals can play a part in the fight against doping.

SEARADO was delighted to be part of this initiative by both universities. The event was held on February 26.
