Manama, Bahrain, May 26, 2024: HH Sheikh Issa bin Ali Al-Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, welcomed a delegation from the Belarusian Olympic Committee at the Bahrain International Airport on Saturday, May 25.
The Belarusian Olympic Committee delegation, which was led by its President Viktor Lukashenko, was warmly welcomed by BOC officials including Secretary General Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji.
In his welcome address, Sheikh Issa bin Ali Al-Khalifa emphasised the importance of strengthening the bilateral relations between the Bahrain Olympic Committee and its Belarusian counterpart, and called for ways to increase cooperation and the exchange of experience in different sports.
In his turn, Belarusian Olympic Committee President Lukashenko expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome and praised the development of sports in Bahrain.
President Lukashenko said his NOC desired to increase sporting ties and to promote mutual cooperation with the BOC. He stressed the need to maintain continuous communication and coordination between the two sporting bodies, and working together to achieve common goals.
