Astana, Kazakhstan, May 23, 2024: Members of the Athletes Commission of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan participated in a special English language educational programme last week.
The aim of this initiative is to prepare athletes for the role of representatives of Kazakhstan in world sports. Fluency in English will open additional opportunities for the country’s integration into the international sports community, and will create the necessary conditions for the active participation of the athletes in sports diplomacy.
The US Embassy in the country provided the teachers for the programme.
“I want to say a big thank you to everyone. Yes, it’s difficult the first time, for sure. However, I think the main thing is to start, and we as a team have to support each other. I want to wish everyone excitement in learning English. Indeed, now it is simply necessary for further growth,” said Olga Rypakova, Chair of the Athletes Commission.
Along with Rypakova, other athletes who participated in the programme included Ruslan Kurbanov, Abzal Azhgaliyev, Elmir Syzdykov and Zhanat Aldabergenov.
