Tashkent, Uzbekistan, May 20, 2024: Iranian duo Nima Alamiyan and Neda Shahsavari emerged as champions in the men’s and women’s singles table tennis competition respectively, at the Central Asian Regional Olympic Qualification tournament to book their tickets to the Paris 2024 Games.
Nima Alamiyan emerged victorious against his elder brother Noshad, 4-1, in the men’s singles final in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Sunday, May 19.
The victory will allow Nima to make his third consecutive appearance at the Olympic Games having competed at Tokyo 2020 and Rio 2016.
In the women’s singles final, Neda Shahsavari defeated Sarvinoz Mirkadirova of Kazakhstan, 4-3, to book her place in Paris. Shahsavari had previously competed at the London 2012 Games and Rio 2016.
