OCA to host webinar on safeguarding of athletes during games time

Kuwait City, Kuwait, May 14, 2024: The Olympic Council of Asia is organising a safeguarding webinar on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

 

In a circular to National Olympic Committees dated May 13, the OCA said the webinar would be held in collaboration with the IOC’s Safe Sport Unit on the Safeguarding of Athletes and Other Participants During Games-Time Period.

 

The webinar will start at 1pm Kuwait time and end at 3.15pm.

 

The webinar will seek to:

1. Ensure all Asian NOCs understand the importance of Safeguarding at Games-time and the importance of including a Welfare Officer as part of team delegations at the Games.

2. Disseminate OCA guidelines and games framework.

3. Review Paris 2024 NOC games preparation.

4. Present Insights from Singapore Games-Time Efforts.

 

The webinar is open to Chef de Missions for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, CDMs for the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Bangkok and Chonburi this November 2024, for NOC-appointed Single Point of Contact delegates, any other relevant NOC person and any other national organisation/stakeholder working in the field of safeguarding.

 

The webinar will be conducted by Mrs Sabine Fakhoury, OCA Gender Equity and Safeguarding Manager (sabine@ocasia.org).

 

Topics will include:
